Slating

The demand for slating still remains a popular option for the owners of the more traditional type of property. All of our tradesmen have considerable years of experience working with the many different types of slating available. If you are considering re-slating your property and wish further details as to the types of slates available we recommend visiting HENDERSON ROOFING SUPPLIES. We also keep a supply of around 2000 various types of slates in our yard. This enables us to provide a rapid response for the smaller repairs which only require replacing a few missing or broken slates.

Tiling

To help you choose the most suitable type of roof tile for your property we can supply samples from the many different ranges available. To view the full range of Marley tiles available visit the web site by clicking MARLEY TILES. As part of our service our experienced staff can carry out a full inspection of your roof to determine if re-tiling is your best option. We would also offer advice on other options if available. We keep in our yard many different types of roof tiles. These allow us to carry out small roof repairs which if left too long can cause considerable internal damage.

Flat Roofs

For many years we covered flat roofs with torch-on felts which provided 10 year guarantees for our customers. In July 2008 we became approved contractors for fitting the Firestone Rubber Guard EPDM flat roof system. For more details of this system visit the website by clicking HERE. One of the main advantages of this sytstem is that we can now offer our customers a 20 YEAR GUARANTEE.

When a flat roof is at the end of it's lifespan, short term repairs can be attempted by covering the perished areas with a wide choice of materials. Although initially these repairs can prove successful, the long term result is that the roof will have to be replaced. As part of our service we would inspect your flat roof to determine it's condition from which we would provide costs for the options available to you.

Flashings

When a flashing is damaged short term repairs can be attempted using materials such as flexacryl, bitumen or flashband to cover any splits which may have developed on the flashing. It is possible that further splits may develop causing internal damage and the need for further repairs to the flashing. For a more permanent repair we would recommend replacing a damaged flashing with lead. Other alternatives which are currently being used are torch on felt and GRP (Glass Re-inforced Polyester). As part of our service we can inspect your damaged flashing and provide costs for all the options available to you.

Guttering

There is a great deal of choice when considering replacement gutters. Cast iron, pressed aluminium and plastic are just some of the more popular options. There are many different profiles for each material. For more details of the types of guttering available we would recommend the Marley range details of which can be seen by clicking HERE. Gutters which are not well maintained or cleaned regularily can lead to costly repairs both internally and externally. Repairing and cleaning gutters is often an inexpensive task for our well trained tradesmen. As part of our service we can inspect your gutters and report on their condition as well as the cost of any likely repairs.

Roughcasting

The traditional method to re-roughcast a property is to strip all the existing roughcast from the required elevation back to the original brickwork. Two coats of mortar are then applied over the brickwork onto which is applied the coloured chip of your choice. A more modern approach to re-roughcasting is to use a polymer mortar. This involves removing the areas of roughcast which are cracked and hollow and rplacing with a dubbing render. A dashing render is then applied over the full elevation onto which is applied the coloured chips of your choice. As part of our service we would inspect your roughcast to determine which method is best suited to your property.
